Your input would be appreciated….

I am in the process of writing a detailed blog post about pre and post workout nutrition.  I would like to know what you eat or drink before and after a workout.  Is there a favorite thing you just have to have?  Is there something that just messes with your system and you avoid.  Don’t be shy, hit that comment button and let me know 🙂

  1. In the mornings after I workout, I need a great bowl of cereal. Honey Nut Cheerios! I’ll reblog this and maybe we can get a few more answers. We’re creating a network for those interested in fitness.

  2. Rule of thumb for me is: carbs before the run……carbs AND protein after the run. Typically my pre-run snack is either a piece of toast with peanut butter or a banana. After my run I’ll have a protein shake. So far both seem to sit well with my stomach. 🙂

When I work out in the morning, it’s usually on a cup of coffee–healthy, right?. ;_) AFTER my workout, I usually make a protein shake with fruits, spinach (you can’t even taste it and it’s a bonus veggie!) and I’m good to go. It’s easy on my stomach and keeps me full for a while. That all said, my workouts are usually under an hour, when I was running (I miss running….) I’d try and get some light carbs in a half hour or so before my run and some protein/carb mix after my run.
